Why are some people more successful than others?

And the answer may not be what you think.

Many say it's because others are brighter, more qualified, more experienced, older, or wealthier. Maybe they are more resilient, forceful, or courageous. We use many reasons to explain why another person is more successful than we are. I certainly have. When you're at school, success is often defined by your grades or the teams you make it onto. You may not feel very successful if you lack achievements in these areas. In the early years of the workforce, success is typically measured by your qualifications, leadership titles, or income level.

Eventually, these factors become less important, and other aspects come into play. So, why are some people more successful than others?

I became a certified high-performance coach because focusing on creating habits based on high-performance research was the key that made the biggest difference for me. If I reflect on my journey from starting my business to now, I've spent hundreds of 1000s of dollars on myself - learning skills. Now, don't get me wrong—skills are important. We must learn skills, but they're not the whole picture. Success is amplified by focusing on life's self, social, and service aspects. We also need to put a strategy around self, social and service that enables those skills to be lifted to a whole different level.

I believe the number one reason some are more successful, without question, comes back to their habits. To become more successful, to become fitter, to break through to improve your relationships, to get promoted more, to produce more things to help you stand out, to be happier—it's all about your habits—your high-performance habits.

That's what the research found.

Nothing will change the direction of your life more than habits; nothing can repair all the old problems and difficulties, heal all the old issues and create a new life for yourself faster than habits. We focus on that in the High-Performance Coaching Program, and as a certified high-performance coach, it is important to be clear about which habits matter most. Being clear about your habits and consistently implementing high-performance habits can profoundly impact your life.

Clarity in identifying which habits matter most enables you to focus your energy and efforts on actions that drive significant growth and success. High-performance habits, such as maintaining clarity, boosting energy levels, cultivating a sense of necessity, maximizing productivity, influencing others positively, and taking courageous actions, are fundamental to achieving ultra levels of success. These habits help in personal development and play a crucial role in overcoming life's challenges, fostering resilience, and building a fulfilling life.

People who consistently engage in high-performance habits tend to be more successful because they create a structured framework that intrinsically enhances various aspects of their lives, fostering personal and professional growth and creating a transformational life strategy.

Let’s unpack each of these more and explore how they can make you more successful.

Seek Clarity:

  • Impact: Clarity about goals and priorities helps individuals stay focused and aligned with their vision. This prevents wasted time and effort on non-essential tasks, ensuring that every action contributes to meaningful progress.

Generate Energy:

  • Impact: Maintaining high energy levels is crucial for sustaining productivity and motivation throughout the day. High energy enables individuals to tackle tasks with vigour and maintain a positive attitude, even during challenging times.

Raise Necessity:

  • Impact: Cultivating a sense of necessity or urgency drives individuals to pursue their goals with determination and persistence. This mindset ensures that they remain committed and motivated to achieve their targets.

Increase Productivity:

  • Impact: High performers maximize their productivity by focusing on high-impact activities and minimizing distractions. This leads to greater output in less time, allowing them to accomplish more and achieve their goals faster.

Develop Influence:

  • Impact: Developing the ability to influence and lead others is crucial for success, particularly in collaborative environments. Effective communication and leadership skills help individuals build strong relationships and drive collective success.

Demonstrate Courage:

  • Impact: Taking bold and decisive actions, even in fear or uncertainty, allows individuals to seize opportunities and drive innovation. Courageous actions often lead to breakthroughs and significant advancements.

By integrating these high-performance habits into their daily routines, individuals create a strong foundation for success. These habits enhance efficiency and effectiveness and foster resilience, adaptability, and continuous improvement. Consequently, those who consistently practice high-performance habits are better equipped to achieve their goals, overcome challenges, and sustain long-term success.
